Arsy Buana Travelindo (HAJJ) Prints 94% Profit Surge in 2023

Issuer of religious travel facilities, PT Arsy Buana Travelindo Tbk (HAJJ) printed a moncer performance in 2023. Where, the company earned a net profit of Rp 4.82 billion or grew by 94% compared to the achievement in 2022 which was only Rp 2.48 billion.

AJJ's net profit was supported by an increase in operating income of Rp 501.53 billion in 2023. Where the realization increased 58% compared to the 2022 period of Rp 318.19 billion.

HAJJ President Director Saipul Bahri stated that the financial performance throughout 2023, both in terms of revenue and net profit, was the best achievement since the company was established.

"Supported by the recovery of the national and global economy and tourism, the Company was able to set a record in terms of financial performance this year. This cannot be separated from the Company's readiness in capturing business opportunities and the hard work of all employees of the Company,” said Saipul.

He continued, this achievement was mainly supported by the contribution of the religious tourism sector which is the main pillar of HAJJ.

Since the reduced impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the lifting of the pandemic status by various countries, community activities have returned to normal. This has had a significant impact on the demand for services such as hotels, airline tickets, and other supporting services for the needs of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Based on the audited financial statements, sales of the hotel product segment, which is one of HAJJ's mainstays, recorded an impressive performance by reaching Rp 349.68 billion, up 222.75% compared to the previous year of Rp 108.34 billion.

Meanwhile, sales of the airline ticket segment showed a decline of Rp 118.85 billion, down 8.95%. This is in line with HAJJ's shift in focus towards the hotel segment which has a higher margin than airfare.

Agung Prabowo, HAJJ's Finance Director explained that this surge in revenue in 2023 had been predicted in advance, as it had implemented various strategic policies, including additional room management and increased sales to local and global customers, to ensure optimization of available room usage.

Furthermore, HAJJ's gross profit in 2023 was recorded at IDR 26.01 billion, an increase of 158% from the achievement of the same period in the previous year of IDR 10.08 billion.

This brilliant performance is also reflected in the achievement of profit before tax where HAJJ recorded a profit before tax in 2023 of Rp 6.40 billion or an increase of 95% from the previous year of Rp 3.28 billion.

HAJJ was able to record basic earnings per share of Rp 2.28, a significant increase of 48% from the same period the previous year of Rp 1.54.

To face 2024, HAJJ will optimize revenue by working to increase room management again.

“Going forward, we will continue to focus on innovation and synergy, along with the MISA License (license from the Saudi Arabian ministry of investment) that the Company has obtained and strategic cooperation plans with various parties such as BPKH Limited,” Saipul Bahri.
